REGISTRATION

      A candidate admitted to Ph.D. programme shall be required to submit application form within six months from the date of joining in the Department for Ph.D. Immediately after joining in the department, candidate is required to join for Ph.D. course work and carry out review of literature/Research Techniques in consultation with the supervisor. Candidate should make use of this period also to prepare a detailed research proposal (Synopsis) and submit the same for the consideration of the PG research Board. The date of registration of a candidate registered for Ph.D. course work immediately after joining in the department will be considered from the date joining provided the candidate submits application for Ph.D. registration along with synopsis within six months from date of joining in the department. Candidates not registered for course work, the date of registration will be from the actual date of submission of the Ph.D. registration in the office of Dean, PG Studies.

Immediately after receiving the Joining report of the candidate along with prescribed registration fee, a provisional registration letter will be issued to the candidate. However, if a candidate fails to submit his research proposal within six months or not registers for Ph.D. course work, the date of registration will be the actual date of submission of the synopsis.

Normal minimum period for submission of Ph.D. thesis shall be two years from the date the registration. However, if a candidate fails to submit their six monthly or annual progress report on or before prescribed date, the minimum period will be increased by the PG Research Board. So all the registered candidates are advised to submit their six monthly and annual progress report well in time.
